Vs. Series two pack Marvel vs Capcom: Origins coming to XBLA/PSN

by on Jul.06, 2012, under News

Capcom is going to be bringing two more of its Vs. Series fighters to Xbox Live Arcade and PlayStation Network this September.

Marvel vs. Capcom: Origins is a compilation that includes Marvel Super Heroes and Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes. You’ll be treated to the usual gaggle of features like online play, leaderboards, dynamic challenges, replay saving and “HD enhanced graphics” that will make fans of sprite art weep.

The US price is $US15.99 for the PSN version, so add your usual PAL PSN premium to that. The Xbox 360 version will probably be 1200 MSP.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 coming to iOS this week

by on Apr.22, 2012, under News

You’ll be able to take your favourite Marvel and Capcom heroes for a ride on April 25th when Capcom releases Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes onto the App Store.

Nothing has been said regarding pricing or features though, so you’ll probably have to wait until the game is released to find that stuff out.

One would presume that this release is on feature parity with other recent releases of the game. We’re also praying that the game has iCade support, given the notoriously awful control schemes featured in Capcom’s other iOS fighters.

Video Game Ad of the Day: Marvel Super Heroes

by on Mar.01, 2012, under Video Game Ad of the Day

Capcom was on fire in the 90s.

Marvel Super Heroes is one in a long line of late 90s Capcom fighting games featuring characters from Marvel Comics. This one is based loosely around the Infinity Gauntlet event that was playing out in the comics in the 90s. The arcade version was released in 1995, but it was two years before it made the trip home. Do yourself a favour and go for the Saturn release if you want the home version.

Gonna take you for a ride!

Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes was the epitome of the Vs. series, bringing together more than 50 heroes and villains from the Marvel universe and Capcom video games. Just watch out for assholes like me who spam the hell out of Cable’s super attacks. This ad is for the US Dreamcast version, which was the first home version of the game.
