The Army Men series of games were generally on the nose, but were big earners for 3DO back in the day. One can assume that ads like this one helped to make Sarge’s Heroes one of the more successful ones, because the game is a mess of muddy graphics and subpar 3rd person shooting action.

BattleTanx: Global Assault was the second in a series of vaguely amusing arcade style multiplayer tank games 3DO published for the Nintendo 64. This ad has pretty much nothing to do with the context of the game.

Army Men started life as a real-time strategy game that some would argue drew a lot of inspiration from the soldiers in Toy Story. Despite the mediocre to poor quality of later games in the series, the original RTS game isn’t actually that bad.
