Nintendo Gamer was a monthly magazine published by Next Publishing (now nextmedia). The first incarnation of the magazine ran from November 2001 until July 2003, and while the second was produced between January 2007 to July 2007. Nintendo Gamer was the successor to N64 Gamer, and primarily covered the Nintendo GameCube, Game Boy Color and Game Boy Advance. The editor for the magazine's entire run was Stephen Farrelly, who had previously written for a number of nextmedia publications as a freelancer.
Cancellation
Nintendo Gamer was cancelled before its 21st issue. While the reason for the cancellation was not explicitly stated in the magazine, we assume that the magazine's circulation was insufficient, largely due to the poor sales of the GameCube in Australia.

Revival
With the success of the Nintendo DS and Wii, nextmedia decided to revive Nintendo Gamer in early 2007. However, the magazine failed to find an audience, and was cancelled after four bi-monthly issues.
